All our German employees joined in a special planting day that was opened by ex minister for the Environment and leader of the Green Party in Germany – Claudia Roth.  The project is being co-ordinated in conjunction with the Department for the Environment & Protection in Germany and we have plans to include a special pond to encourage freshwater biodiversity and also an acre of protected land for local wildlife. 

Earlier this year Baufritz won the ‘Entrepreneur of the year’ award in Germany and the prize money is being used to fund this eco-friendly project. There is space for a total of 11,111 trees (to mark our 111th anniversary this year) on the site and planting will continue in phases over the coming years.  It is free to plant a tree in your name so if you haven’t already done so click here to join our campaign now.
